Interesting interpretation and wonderfully executed.

Depth, details and colors are here.

I can see this face and it's does create the feeling pain.

Thank you for sharing you're talents.
There is nothing to change here, only take in the message you're sending :)

You've done a great job :)

I saw the face right away. Then I read what you wrote. I know now what it means to study a painting. Thank you, the more I studied the more I say and the more I felt. Really great.

Thank you very much for your review. You made my day! It was my intention to make people study this picture as all pictures they look at :-)

this certainly looks like nature screaming in agony for which I applaud your effort.I like the huge range of tones and subtle variations in colour and texture which is to me what makes this such a striking painting.

WOW!!! very well done, you have shown a face tortured by the stupidy, and carelessness of man. I particulary like the colors, and textures, they have enough depth to get lost in! Donkeyoatey

Its a good piece of art. Great color. There is not much detail. I know the red is fire but you need to work on the flames a little more.

Thank you very much for your review and your input. There is not much fire in the original photo [see post Fire in the Blues by member wallypete]. I am not a photo realistic painter, but I did go more detail here than usual. Nevertheless the impressionist touch as the surreal are intended. Neither, the fire or the smoke are the subject, but the face [see title] what appears in the smoke. If you cannot see the face I have failed.

Oh my goodness, what a wonderful job you've done of this and thank you so very much for the kind words. You are a very dear friend to us both, and you are so very much appreciated. Your thoughts on the tortured face and nature are very, very cool. I doubt I would ever have thought of that, but I'm so glad you did. Looking at it that way presents such a profound sense of sadness, and in fact it was just that. Once again Cleo, thank you for doing me the honor of painting this, and the dedication. Give Phil a hug for us. Prayers for both of you. God bless, Don

Thank you my friend for the great review and the raining stars. I really appreciate it. It was a honor to paint it. Thank you for the permission. It was the most complicated I have ever done so far. I didn't know how complicated it is to paint wildfire smoke, especially if there is a face in it.
    God bless you both, Cleo

Cleo,
This is a stunning piece you have created..and resonates with me as I had to live through Texas Wildfires last September that destroyed our territory. About 85% of the homes on our road were devoured by the flames.
Your painting really captures the unusual colors of a raging fire..the blues that surround the red heart..theres nothing like it when you see it first hand.
Thanks for the excellent notes that explain the story that inspired your art.
Jenny
p.s. I see anguish and loss in the face, and a look of resignation, like the damage cannot be undone.

Thank you, I am honored by your high rating; but you made my day by seeing in the face exactly what I wanted to be seen. It was about the most complicated piece I painted so far. I had no idea how hard it is to paint smoke, especially if there has to appear a face with the intended emotion in it.
Beside the stunning photo and story of wallypete; I painted from my own experience. In 2005 a fire devoured 8 housings the dive shop and the restaurant of our little village.
    Thank you again very much
    Cleo

Thank you very much. It is not a waterfall but smoke from the wild fire.
