I'd like to see the size of the original in the artist notes. I think the size effects the way people understand the work and would allow them to appreciate your craftsmanship more. I love the rendering in the wings. I've tried to mimic that look before and it is challenging to get it right. Yours look perfect, like the butterfly could take off at any moment. The image seems small and I'm not getting to see all the detail I know you packed into this. Beautiful piece. It's an honor to compete with you :)

I am sorry I some how completely forgot to say the piece is oil paint done on a piece of wood that measures approx 12" by 9"

This is so soft and quite beautiful. The details in the flowers is perfect and the butterfly is bold and striking the way you have painted it. Your leaves are shadowed nicely. I love this painting and would proudly display it in my home. The colors are perfect for my family room!
