Willie, this is a good one. I have been having a heck of a time finding something decent. Not only did you capture the texture of the wood, you beautifully captured the texture of the rusty hinge, way to go! I like how this is composed with the wood slats tilted and the hinge straight. Good luck!

Thank you so very much! Old wood like this should be easy to find in your area. If not an old fence post will work good. If you have to look in your husbands tool room. Surely you can find something rusty. Take that and put it on an old piece of wood or fence post.

It sure fits the contest. I really like the texture in the wood. In most cases the point of view is not good in the center, but this one seems to work just fine. Good luck in the contest!

All the texture is extraordinary, and the whole image is very well composed and certainly an excellent entry into contest. The rusty hinge has such color and texture to itself, and the whole image is a wonderful full frame close up! Very nice. A pleasure to view!
