I think the idea is a good one, I also am thinking the photo's main element that draws the eye into the image is the car in the background. The angle of the shot also seems to be a detractor, the angle again overrides the photo's message.
I think if it were straightened and the curb in the foreground reduce, the car in the background removed it could work as an entry into the green contest, as it is it is more about the car then the green area.

great capture good initial impact, this is a beautiful colors and great framing very nice detail clarity and exposure, I suggest a little bit of contrast, it looks a tad washed your focus is good well done , - Jairos
