It does get the b&w effect and has some very creative light and dark colors complementing each other. I feel it is too busy to focus on much.

I don't think this would be as good or make as big of an impact if it were in color. The black and white really highlight the white foam and the roughness of the waves. It also ties the water and clouds and moon to the water. Really nice job.

This is one angry sea. The moonlight is a very good light source for the scene. The moonlight beams highlight the wave crests as they are crashing. The clouds give a little haziness for the moon light and tone it down a little giving the effect of a stormy night.

Well it is not right to be black at a beach. but I will let it slide since it is for the contest. the waves are good technically and the moon is good too.

Yikes, you have dreamed up and painted a wonderful storm! The waves are amazing and the whitecaps breaking over the tops of the waves are so very realistic..
Add in the clouds and you have a wonderful hurricane look to this painting.

Best wishes in the contest!

I know how difficult this kind of seascape is. Doing it on canvas paper is outstanding. Excellent visual impact with added mood in black and white. An exciting piece that captivates the viewer

I think this turned out pretty good. I see different levels which make this look 3-dimensional. The white caps on the waves look great. The moons reflection is nice too. You did a really nice painting. Good luck with the contest.

Hi. know how tough this must have been to paint. good job. Especially since it's straight out of your imagination. Waves a so tough to get right and I fell like your's a "right". Keep at it.

Oh me, this makes me want to take art lessons. I really like it in the black and white. It adds a lot of mystery and drama as though a boat might be in danger.
I think you did a superior work and I don't think it would be nearly as pretty in color as the sea is evidently very restless.

It was a dark and stormy night...the wind howled and the waves crashed...brr,that's the feeling I get with this powerful painting. It is really well done. Congratulations.
