Sassy Jane,
thank you for your time in looking and then writing your critique of my art work they are appreciated. This drawing took me approximately 40 hours to complete. Most take a minimum of that amount of time and go up from there depending on size and complexity.
Thank you again for your support of my artwork.
Cheers!!!

The Doberman was perfect and I thought, some better would be impossible. I was wrong. This Sheppard is even more impressive, Not only the individual features of this dog are evident, but his nature as well. A intelligent dog who will fill his double job in keeping the flog and protecting the sheep against predators well. The tongue seems to tell about the done work as well as containing the question; Did I well master? Of course your art of pointillism is masterly, but you know that already.

You're most welcome.
I find it hard to write reviews on your work. Words of appreciation sound often empty. It is so much easier to comment on something what has some errors even small errors; but I very seldom find something at your work.
I probably missed a lot of your work lately. I am way back at reviewing. Sorry about that.
Cheers Cleo

This would make a good poster for recruitment of police dogs. Pixelation and monochrome make for a great photo! Nice work

Johnmyr,
again, this one approximately 40 hours. To me if the eyes captures and holds the viewer, if they are correct the drawing seems to always work.
Thank you for your praise & support of my artwork. I am very pleased you liked and enjoyed my stipple drawing.
Have great week,
Cheers!

Lorraine Purviance,
The time it takes depends on the size of course, this one approximately 40 hours. To me the eyes are what captive you and hold you, if they are right the drawing seems to always work.

You know this fascintes me..the work involved must take forever..and to manage to get the shadowing in the picture..I am unable to understand HOW you do that! The eye has such a lifelike gleam or catchlight, the nose too has a bit of moisture look, and I expect the tongue to drool. Just a great pice. Donkeyoatey

donkeyoatey,
it all has to do with looking and seeing what is there, and the turning colors into their gray-scale counter parts. I guess it involves patience, of wanting to get it correct, in the art of really seeing the shades, the lighting and not being too critical on yourself.
I try very hard not to be too hard on myself when I screw up. This drawing took a total of approximately 40 hours, over a months worth of time to complete.
Thank you for you support of my work and me, it is appreciated, I am pleased you like the results of my efforts.
I am honored by the praise in your review of my work.
Have a great day,
Cheers!!

Lucien, you have the gift of patience. Of all the pointillism work I have seen from your hand, this is one of the best. It is not anything simple at all with this technique, and not much room for mistakes during the process, and still it is the simplicity that strikes me first with this image.
I think it has to do with the fact that this is done in black and white and with a neutral background. Seen as a thumbnail, this almost looks like a high key treated photo. It is really good distinctions between dark and light areas, and a good flow.
I also like the pose you have captured here, and the head of the dog is well placed within the frame. Very good balance between negative and positive space. This is indeed well done, and it has been a pleasure both to view and review this work of art.
