What a beautiful photo I really like the lighting and how it is shot against the silhouette of the trees it creates great contrast and depth fine work here

First of all if I did not just award my last six, you would have it for this photograph. There is a brilliant clarity in the palms in the forefront contrasting with your background which is softened a bit. Amazing shot. Now I will take a guess at the ring phenomenon and say it looks like some type of flare from the sun reflecting off the optics in your lens. Just guessing.

This is really cool. I have not seen this effect either. Love how it grabs your eye to the center, but then makes you want to step back and look at it all. Great contrast and depth of field. Very sharp but soft at the same time.

Don't know what you did but you've got an amazing shot. The focus, DOF, framing and composition are superb. The Emerald Ring is an extra added bonus that elevates this shot. There is a story here - not sure what it is.

Not sure what gave you this effect Fred. Very unique. Just a guess that it's an effect with the polarizing filter making the green circle but I use one also and have never seen this effect. Whatever caused it it's certainly interesting and really grabs the attention of the viewer. Neat shot and maybe just a lucky accident.

Nice shot. Love the foreground in shadow. Well framed and focused. The 'circle of light from the sun is caused by the moisture in the air and the sun's rays diffraction. Pretty much the same thing that gives you a halo around the moon on certain evenings.

Very unusual landscape with very nice colours. Well framed with the tropical trees and a very sharp image of the sunset. I understand that the circle is caused by dust and pollution in the atmosphere.

absolutely no dust or pollution for miles around; many thanks

I was in Florida and had almost the same thing happen around a moon shot. I was told it was high in the atmosphere, but who knows.

Tranquil view of the sunset.
Nice clarity. Good exposure and lighting control. Nice visual pop. I feel that your sun sits just alittle to center in the frame but outside of that I like it.
You did well. Thanks for sharing.

Congrats!

many thanks but as suggested by some, this central position may contribute tov the formation of the ring
