I like this picture.I , kind of, thought, that there is nothing behind, before I read your comment. Would I want the door to be slightly open? Perhaps Yes, but I would not risk to brake the whole thing for it.
This picture feels soft and warm and has a hint of mystery. And it is for sure about stairs.

I looked at this image yesterday and passed it over and could not work out why!! something about it bothers me, don't get me wrong I like it, I had another look today and what I see is, there are a couple of areas out of focus under the cat and the wall. I don't know if that's camera settings or your processing. Personally I would like to have pulled up detail a little. That said it's a great idea and capture.

Love this !!! That pure white cat sitting there minding his own business is awesomely positioned. I bet he has some stories about those stairs..... lol I am only learning so can't offer advise on technique, but in my opinion, great shot. Thanks for sharing :)
