I have a collection of Italian Masks from Italy each given to me from family members who went.
Masks intrigue me due to the fact so many wear one allowing you to see what they will you to.
For me...the eyes of a person tell you what you need to know.
I like the white and gold on the mask, but it is those piercing eyes that draws us in.

Oh, yes, I saw the movie. About 20 years ago, but still remember it well. Did you ever read E.A.Poe 'The Mask of the Red Death"?

Truth, this story did just ask for being transformed into a movie.

This mask is lovely and reminds me of the Edgar Allen Poe story, "The Cask of Amontillado" that takes place during a Venetian Carnivale celebration. As in the story, the mask only depicts what the wearer wants seen.

Really good entry for the white contest. Your composition is striking and hits you right away. You made good use of the white with the touches of gold that accentuate her eyes so well. This should do very well in the contest.

Your color choices are wonderful. The gold reminds me of a queenly person. It works really well against the pasty white and the beautiful red lipstick.

Thank you very much for your review and your input. This is an older work of mine from 2016. I will think about the eye, but changing is would mean to redue the whole painting. :o)
