Fitting title! There is so much rich and enjoyable texture throughout this image. This is a perfect environment for the black and white format. The pine cones and the tree bark add visually interesting patterns. The deer skull is interesting.

What a beautiful entry this is into this kind of contest. This photo just looks great in black and white, and I especially like the fine distinctions between light and dark. The photo is also filled with interesting textures.
Your photo is also nice and sharp showing really clear and well defined details in all the items, and the exposure is just spot on.
The format and framing is perfect, and the scull has got a very good placement off to the right. This is an original and creative still life in nature, and indeed a well taken photo. I wish you luck with the contest.

Your photo is also nice and sharp showing really clear and well defined details in all the items, and the exposure is just spot on.

This photo shows the sadness of death, and the beauty of the animal. The overall appearance of the photo is stunning. Black and white drives home the intention of the picture.
It is not uncommon to locate the racks of a big buck, but to find the entire skull is rarer.
