I am impressed. This looks indeed like a big feather. The diagonal white spine is especial intriguing. It is leading the eyes and balances the composition. I like that the triangle above the white spine has more light than the triangle below left. There is also an interesting shape at the right corner which looks like a butterfly.

It kind of reminds me of a feather but also the inside of a cactus flower. Love the purple/blue variations. The white across the center really makes the image pop.

When this first appeared on the screen, my first though was that it looked like a spine. Ha! Of course I see the feather, and I love your method and still plan to try the same approach with my alcohol paints. We are waiting for a big snow storm tomorrow, so I think I'll have the time.

It does have something of a Feather-y look to it,doesn't it?
I saw it at first as looking like an abstract rendition of a mythical Dragon's spinal column spouting long and exotic projections but that's just because of my 'dark' imagination! : )
It's definitely a 'Good Show' of a picture,my friend!
