Oh if only the leaves could play instruments. The wing span is totally awesome. So beautiful allowing us to see the two tone grey feathers. He certainly is standing staunch and straight as if he were orchestrating. Lovely sun light , excellent focus, and terrific cropping filling up the whole frame. I love how the back feathers look layered and ruffled . Pretty

You're right, Grace, he does look as if he's conducting an orchestra! Excellent capture showing the impressive wingspan of this beautiful Great Blue Heron as he stands in the water. Excellent lighting and focus showing a lovely crisp image and great detail in the feathers. Lovely composition. Suzanne

I can see what you saw Grace, and it is truly lovely to see this bird with its wings spread like this. They do indeed look impressive. I like the green foliage as a background, and how well the bird is standing out from it.
The photo is sharp showing such clear ad well defined details in the wings, and the exposure is perfect.
The format and framing is working well, and the bird has a perfect placement in the center. A truly lovely and well taken photo, and with an excellent DOF.

Ok ..you see the Great Maestro I see him turning his back on you.

The detail in the wings is amazing. I like how you have capturethe bird at this angle. It's different but gives a fresh prepective. You should be proud of this

Grace,
A beautiful picture of this Great Blue Heron facing the bank it's wings extended & it's back & tail feathers ruffled, both exposed to the warmth of the sun hoping his mate with see it. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Another fantastic pose. You are right, he does look like he is conducting a musical symphony lol. All there needs to be is a few more facing him to complete that scene ;) You couldn't have framed this more perfectly. Well done and thanks for sharing this wonderful scene with us. :)
