This is such a lovely "blue hour" image. How long is the blue hour in Alaska, anyway? :) The leading lines of the river leading into the trees, mountains and sky make this such a lovely image to view.

    Thanks so much! Blue hour varies with the seasons here, this is late at night!

Pat how do you stand all this scenic beauty surrounding you 24 - 7 365 ? Do you ever get the urge to visit a slum just to stay in touch with how the other half lives ? An excellent job of shpowing off the beauty of Alaska as usual Pat.

You're next to Norway in terms of daylight?!? ;-)

Looks like a cool morning!
Nice leading lines.
Vanishing viewpoint lends a greater depth...
Cool illumination with a bluish overtone.
Refreshing vista.

Good perspective & long depth of field...

Thanks for sharing...

    Thank you so much! Yes we get mostly daylight during summer, mostly darkness during winter!

Indeed, this looks like daylight on a cloudy morning. The colors are realistic. Especial the shades of blue and green are intriguing. The photo is focused and has good depth. The composition is balanced and well framed.

I can't imagine light like this at midnight. Of course you make up for it in the winter. A well composed shot with great depth of field and beautiful colors.

a great night shot; lol;
it is always strange to see a blue sky at midnight; I experienced it in Greenland;
a beautiful view of this winding river between the pine trees; I like the three on the left, like bending in honor of the river who feeds them;

How lovely to be still light at that time of night. Lovely shot, Pat, showing this lovely river meandering along between the trees with the mountains in the distance. Excellent lighting and focus. Lovely composition. Suzanne

It is pretty amazing to see so much light at 2345! I like the rocks along the shoreline of this river and how there is grass that leads up to them. The water color looks inviting.

I really like the few trees "bowing" showing they are strong enough to bend.
Great focus, superb white balance control, fantastic view, depth and beauty.
Well done ;)
