this is very lovely indeed. i have very fond memories of crete, although a terrible transport system which made it too difficult to get around. your image is very beautiful and captures the magic for sure.

oh that is great news. i did hike down the samaria gorge, where partisans hid out. that was the most beautiful scenery i have ever seen.

yes I wanted to do that but the wife did not,but there was plenty of other stuff to see.
Other thing is if you do get chance to go there again, check out the museum in the harbour, two floors in there and one is devoted to their history of the sea and one complete devoted to ww11 so interesting and full explains the invasion and what it did to them..Brian

that is great brian. i'd love to see and such a great island with a rich history. i hiked down the gorge with some crazy girl and we were both carrying heavy rucksacks. i was a thai boxer at the time and mega fit but i almost died of exhaustion. when we got to the other end there was a lovely beach but populated with these huge black wasps, so we ended up not staying long. that famous 'bounty' advert 'the taste of paradise' was filmed in crete.

nice capture. the angle of the shot of this water building front with cloudy sky view is great. the capture of the light is great., the clarity is great. the image is balance and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

A very good looking coastal cityscape posted here! Your fine and classical composition grants us an enjoyable view of your lovely location. Like the clouds. Exposure and sharpness are good. Nicely done!

You are not alone, Brian. I was following Supergold's recent visit and I will make Crete my soon to go destination.
The presentation of your image is pleasing and composition of the city, sky and water nicely composed. Great details And natural coloring as well.

A fine view of the waterfront that shows not only the beautiful buildings but the way the people crowd the walk along the shore. Great colors and nice composition. Best of luck in the contest.

I really like the blue tones in the sky and water here, this is a beautiful scene looking toward the shops and interesting architecture across the water. The single boat is well placed in this scene.
This is of course, well focused, the image is clear, exposure is correct, the colors and tones appear true and natural. Well composed and presented! Best wishes to you in this contest!
