This is really creative as are your explanations above. It really does express motion as a take-off or coming in. The wings and neck are really nice. The body is a little less so but fine job with what you had to do with.

Thank you for reviewing. A little disappointed what you think of the body, its modern impressionism in doodle form so it isnt meant to be perfect as part of the overall. But I greatly appreciate your review and support.

An appealing image that is quite fanciful. I have watched many swans take off and they all run along the surface of the water before they can lift off; I have never seen one fly at night though.

A very expressive piece of art. You have done a great job creating the feeling of imminent flight. The piece has a somewhat impressionistic look, so it really shines when viewed a slight distance. The color palette works very well. Good luck in the contest.

I like your notes to set up the story of the swan being disturbed by the headlights, I think you did an awesome job of showing the swan rising up out of the water, there is a nice sense of its motion as I view!
