Nicely done my friend! The blue colors are lovely as are the details of the crashing waves against the dramatic sky. I love the contrast of softness and fine details throughout and I think you have done a beautiful job of this work. Thanks for sharing!

My eyes immediately go to the man lying there, perfectly shaded by the boat wreckage. I especially love the stark realism of the man. The colors are incredible here. I can almost hear the ocean waves. Also the symbolism of man's fragility is great. You can be proud of this painting.

I had to look at this for a few minutes to see the injured sailor. He blends into the scene. Having owned a art gallery for 19 years, I am familiar with Winslow Homer. You have done a great job in giving us a very good feeling about this being in the Homer style. Great job.

I was immediately drawn in to this amazing scene , you have done such an amazing job in your rendition of Homers Shipwreck. I can see the time and thought you have applied here and the great attention to every detail. I love the way you show the sea and it's motion, the sky is alive with detail, the remnants of the ship and the man laying off to the left on the sand. It all comes together in such a perfect way, well chosen and applied colors and tones, good show of the light and shadows. This scene is well arranged and presented! You should be quite pleased with this work my friend! It's outstanding in my opinion!

Hi Glena, I have no idea what the original image you did looked like but this one is amazing! Love the shoreline and the waves. Your diagonal view of the shore is very cool. We get the full advantage of seeing the entire shoreline, clouds and waves. You know there was a storm from taking in all that! Love the victim of all this and his tipped over boat. The whole vision is awesome! You did wonderful job with this!!!! :o) Nancy

Thank you so much, artist friend Charlotte for reviewing and looking up. My original was so long ago that I had to guess and do my best at the way I remember and from a couple of images I saw but they weren't exactly like the one I duplicated I don't believe.

It does seem that Homer did many different shipwreck paintings, but this one was called After Hurricane Bahamas and for you to paint it from memory is even more impressive! Wow.
