Every aspect of this "just a grasshopper" is in perfect focus Annie.

You have captured this insect with excellent camera and artistic technique. Your post processing techniques highlights and makes the subject the center of interest and is framed in a creative presentation of contrasting color under soft even lighting.

This piece is a master course in how to make the simple sublime... Bob

A very interesting and unique photo presented here. I'm not a fan of grasshoppers but you have captured this little bug perfectly. Composition and lighting is well done!!

Perched delicately on what looks like a window pane, a lone grasshopper pauses, its slender antennae sensing the whispers of the breeze. In the soft glow of sunlight, the intricate details of its skeleton come alive,. A creative post. Well done!

From the thumbnail I thought it was perched on a leaded window!
The frame really makes this shot so much more interesting, I totally agree with you.
Beautiful detail in the grasshopper, I particularly love the clarity of its eye - I didn't even know their eyes looked like that (they always fly/jump away too fast! Lol).
The tail needs a tiny bit more work though - some of the pale blue around it has been missed, but apart from that it's perfect.

This is fine non-boring imagery. The framing indeed spruced up the entire work. It also made it expressive and gave the grasshopper life by causing it to appear it is cleaving to the wire.

A+ for creativity! I love when artists play around with photos. It truly takes on a whole different feel. It is presented very well, in a way that makes the grasshopper stand out. Nicely done, thanks for sharing!

Pretty cool looking, I think adding the frame was a perfect idea, makes it look like the grasshopper is on a stained glass window! hopper is well focused with a great diagonal placement in the frame, dissecting the oval of chicken wire. A very fun and interesting photo!
