My goodness you really found a tiny mushroom. The acorn caps are about the same size as the top of the mushroom. Love the color of the center and those frills. Always love the frills on a mushroom. Your focus and lighting show the little guy of well, letting us enjoy the view! Very nice entry for the Mushroom contest! Good Luck! :o) Helvi

Hi Nancy.. For the most part fungi have little interest for me. But every now and then I come across a specimen that just has to be photographed. Thank you so much for a wonderful review and fine five rating ... Bob

Hi, this image of "Backyard Fungi" is very interesting. The middle one looks like it has teeth and wants to eat me. Good colours, texture and clarity. Well done and good luck in the contest, cheers.

A good shot of this individual fungus with good focus and clarity, especially of the gills. Not sure what the other two things are in the shot. Good luck in the contest.

Hi Michele.. The other two things are Red Oak Acorn Caps. The deer love them. The one on the right has been partially eaten.
Thank you for reviewing this capture and I appreciate your generous rating ... Bob

Those are definitely unique looking mushrooms, I don't think I have ever seen any like that before! The top one looks like it's turned inside out giving us a good look at the gills. A very interesting mushroom for this contest, best wishes to you!

Hi LeeAnn.. The other two items are Red Oak Acorns. Seems like wherever I find a Red Oak I find these mushrooms - occasionally.
Thank you so very much for a great review and rating. I am glad you liked the post ... Bob

Geez, do I feel stupid, they definitely ARE acorns (and I do honestly know what they look like!) probably would have helped if I had increased the brightness on my monitor, which I tend to have turned down, and enlarged the photo. We have a lot of red oaks, but I can’t say that I have ever seen that type of mushroom, but maybe I’ll come across one sometime; thanks for the info!

Great look at these backyard mushrooms! I don't know what kind they are either. The image is sharp and the clarity is very good. Best of luck!

A refreshing entry for this Mushroom Contest. This looks like an after the rain scene because the foreground looks wet and there's some water deposits in the mushroom. I like this entry because it is free from digital alteration and the colors are also very natural. Lighting angle and framing are well done.

Hi Nieves.. A hot humid night with intermittent rain, and these fungi just seem to pop out of the ground. This one looked so fresh. Thanks for the review... Bob
