Bob what a beautiful proof this delicate dragonfly with the wing spread and soft light shining in to the image.
Natural colors of the main subject and the grasses are great and overall nice to view presentation!

I'm pretty sure I have reviewed this before, but I'm going to say it again. I'm a big fan of dragonflies. This one is no exception. I love the angle that you used to capture this insect as it's resting upon the leaves. Colours tones, and textures are well done. Thank you for sharing.

Bob,
A beautiful picture of this Dragonfly resting on a Day lily leaf the sun's rays catching the iridescence on it's wings. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

Hi Susan.. The iridescent blue I saw with my eyes I couldn't get on the sensor. To the eye the blue was much more intense than depicted in this shot. I'm glad you liked the post. Thank you, for the excellent review and rating!... Bob

Love dragonflies and you have captured this one nicely with good clarity of the wings and detail of the body and eye.
Colors are natural and your handling of light conditions was great.
Good composition.

Nature's best ! I like the unaltered image and presented just the way it is. Prominent lines and textures. Focus, lighting, and angle are well-done. I love the shiny wings and the clarity of the patterns. You've framed this well, too.

Hi Nieves.. My goal with my work in nature photography has always been to capture nature as I see it; not how I think others want to see it. So sorry it took so long for this reply. Thank you for the fine review and rating ... Bob

Hi Mark.. I found that where gossamer wings are concerned, focus the wings and the rest will follow. I'm glad you liked the post. Thank you so much for the fine review and outstanding six rating... Bob

Hi Bob, This guy looks like he is looking for the Sweet Williams. This is a wonderful pic of the dragonfly, nicely focused and all that intricacy in the bicolor wings. Very enjoyable. Ray

Hi Ray.. These insects are so elusive. They rarely stay still for more than a few seconds. Now I want to photograph one in flight - why not? Thanks for the review, greatly appreciated... Bob

You are welcome Bob, dragon flies to my kids were ET bugs. Ray

What a beautiful specimen you've captured. It's very interesting how only part of the wings are dark brown and almost symmetrical where the brown color starts on each wing. Nice job showing the irredentist blue also. That's a tough property to display with something in motion. The composition is lovely and clarity is great. The wings are so intricate and delicate. This is my favorite insect, so I might be biased but I think this is an awesome shot!

Hi Lisa.. The symmetrical shading of their wings has fascinated me since childhood. They are like fingerprints, no two are alike. And it took a conscious effort to keep my fingers off the color saturation slider and over saturate the blue. I was particularly struck by the vein patterns in the gossamer wings. Thanks for a great review and rating. Sorry it took so long... Bob
