That's a beautiful flower. I used to work at a gardening center, and so I've seen quite a few of these, but every time I can't help but notice how beautiful they are

The hollyhock is so pretty and it looks so fresh! I have seen these in a striped pink / white pattern, but this is the first so,I'd vibrant pink that I have seen.
It certainly jumps forward to be noticed .
You have photographed it well with spot on focus , this image is sharp and clear and you have brought out such well defined detail in petals as well as the deep center . Exposure is perfect, the colors and tones appear natural.
Well composed in the square format, I like the green stem and the diagonal placement .
Well composed and presented!

Hi Nieves.. Oh, thank you so much for posting this beautiful Hollyhock. It reminds me so much of the hollyhocks that grew everywhere in my small village. Everyone grew them. Mostly just a few stalks along a sheltered stonewall/fence.

But there was a large field of them that grew on both sides of the 'Short-cut' to the beach. I remember they were almost as tall my brother. Mostly I remember the many pollinators that graced each blossom.

The diagonal run of the stalk adds a lot of eye appeal.

Your camera settings have given us a very detailed and sharply focused look at this flower.

The petal and central details are extra sharp. The petals veins and crenulations are in sharp focus.

Love this one... Bob

Yes Nieves, this striking red hollyhock is in it's prime. Timing is everything and you have good timing. Colour really pops with the black background and focus, texture and clarity are very good. Well done and thanks for sharing :-)

A wonderful shot of this beautiful hollyhock flower. Focus and clarity are excellent showing excellent detail of the petals and sepals of the flower. The dark background is great showing the flower without any distractions

Nieves you captured this Hollyhock beautifully. You've caught the variegated lines in the petals and shades of red so well. Perfectly focused, you even caught the shine on the petal. So nice to savor. Ray

Nieves - you have definitely excelled in floral photography. Nicely done, with such sharpness I can see the tiny droplets of dew on the stem as well as the intricacies of the veins in the petals. Smart to allow the stem to lead the viewer on a diagonal leading line - it offers so much more appeal than a horizontal or vertical presentation. Wonderful bold / contrasting colors. A pleasure to review.

Good sharp photo of this flower and good use of dof as the green shoot is a tad out of focus[which is good] as it makes the flower sharper still, nice one this...Brian

Another nice photo of a hollyhock. I like the color of this species. Somewhere between pink and red, can't quite decide. The black background and diagonal stem is super. Nice post.
