You definitely have a winner with this entry, Nancy, you must have had a lot of fun with this very creative and spooky Halloween invitation, just how long did it take to create this? Your artists notes are as impressive as your creation; best wishes to you in the contest!

I can tell how you have worked pretty hard to come up with this Halloween Invitation. The obvious and big stars in front are of course pretty defined and yes, they, looked welcoming especially the skeleton on the left hand side with a hat. He got that unpredictable smile. The candelabra is well placed in the frame and the three bats added more spook in this scene. Your tiny characters are fun to watch, too. I mean all those that are peeking at the window. Great ideas, excellent storytelling potential, high on creativity and skills in the creation of mixed media images. A pretty entertaining scene, Nance.

Hi Nieves, If you had fun looking at my image, then I did what I set out to do! I wanted to fill this with the spirit of Halloween and let people enjoy the view! I' thrilled you enjoyed it so much! Thank you so much for the lovely compliments and awesome six star review! :o) Nancy

Well, well, well - someone has been busy! What a fun composition to celebrate the 2024 Halloween festivities. I can't EVEN imagine the time you put into this entertaining piece. I LOVE IT!!! This needs to be printed on one of those sticky adhesive window mounts to adorn the decoration frenzy this time of year. I think you have masterfully covered every iconology of this celebrated holiday. The ghost in the window, the fun skeletons, pumpkin, bats, black cats, tombstones and that candle to light our way as we dare to step into the scene and test our heart muscle. Seriously - I'm curious, how many hours / days of working with 230 pieces did this take? I'm astonished!

Hi Kathy, One idea led to another and this image kind of took off on its own. It all started with the dapper skeleton and the house. I thought it had a nice Stephen King look to it. I think this took about 10 days but I'm not entirely sure! I usually don't count the pieces but this time I did! When you forget a piece and want to get it in the right layer it can be hard to find it again. I also was afraid my computer was going to crash so I minimized the image several times. It was a lot of work but was totally fun to do! Thank you so much for all the lovely compliments and six star review! :o) Nancy

Oh - my.... you made me laugh out loud. I so sympathize with your concern about running out of memory and storage space on the computer. Thats why I'm trying so hard to get through my images (delete, keep, etc.) as it's unfortunately time to upgrade ("AGAIN") SIGH!!!

This is a perfect entry for this contest! I can see the time and thought you have applied here, reading your notes tells us that you worked very hard here and so thoughtfully applied the Skeleton in left foreground wearing that hat with the date on it, the skeleton over near center and the one over on the right , it is so clever that they appear to be coming up from underground and I love the different positions of them as they come up. The haunted house is awesome out in back and that skeleton has made its way to the rooftop. I see a black cat there on the lower level roof with glowing orange eyes! The candelabra and pumpkin are perfect touches and I like the gravestone too, it's a perfect sky with the setting sun sending up the fiery orange rays and the bats are out with their glowing orange eyes,
This is so well arranged and really makes a great invitation for a Halloween part!
Well presented! Very best wishes to you in this contest! If you are going to be there, I will be happy to attend!
