What I like the best about this photo is that it is presented in black and white, and also the fine textures you have brought out. It is also lovely the way the pumpkins are reflected in the wooden surface, and also how lovely the light is falling on them.
This is also a very sharp photo with sharp and well defined details in all the pumpkins, and the exposure is perfect. Great distinctions between light and dark.
The way you cropped the photo is very good, and the three pumpkins are well placed within the frame. This is such a different, lovely and well taken photo Pat, and with an excellent DOF.

Very nice image, the black and white tones compliment each other well. The lighting is spot on as are the details. Overall a nice image. Thanks for sharing.

Pat, I like this photograph of the pumpkins, and it seems it would be a good entry into the B+W contest coming up. The offset placement in the frame is interesting, as is the dark background.

Reminds me of one I posted in b&w of three white pumpkins, i like the additional interest of the slight reflection in yours; the striped one makes for a nice contrast. This would have made a great entry for the b&w contest, it's definitely very enjoyable!

Hi Pat, I love how the B&W makes these pumpkins look so pronounced! The folds really come across nicely! Love the way you set them up, the shine and the faint reflection on the table. This image would have made a great image for a still shot contest, or a B&W contest! Super Job! I enjoyed the the view! :o) Nancy

A very interesting and unique visual presented here with these three pumpkins. I like that you use black-and-white to highlight them. I also like the reflections that are casting off the floor space. Well done.

As always, your image sparked my interest. The black and white is nice. The reflection on the table gives it an artistic nuance. Tis a dark season after all. ;)
Are you going to share the colored shot as well?

Nice! I would have never thought to take an image like this - your inspiring Pat! This looks so cool in black and white with its faint reflection on the wood surface.
The image is shot with clear, crisp sharpness - whereas we can sense the textures on the skin and stem of the pumpkins. The grain on the wood add's to the textiles in the piece.
The lighting is perfect and provides each pumpkin to share in the spotlight.
The composition is very appealing. You have used the rule of thirds w/ negative space, as well as the rule of odds, patterns and lines (the lines being the inherent grooves in the pumpkins).
I'm so drawn to simple images that become works of art - Like this one! I love it!

Pat,
A wonderful Black & White photo of the three Pumkins with their reflections on the table beneath them am I imaging it or is there a Creepy Spider on the stalk of the smaller Pumpkin? Artistic composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Of course with pumpkins color would be the first choice, but have to say Pat i do like this in b/w the darkness behind them does make a good contrast with the lighter pumpkins and as you say there is a nice subtle reflection in this, like it...Brian
