Nancy the colors you use work so well against the background. Sad story to see this battered monarch losing it's wings. Tells a story and is expertly displayed. Very nice. Ray

Hi Ray, I copied and used the original background using the natural colors. I just blurred it and stretched it a little to get the look just right. It was sad to see this lovely butterfly in such shape, so despite that, I'm glad you enjoyed the image! Thanks for the great review! :o) Nancy

This poor and sweet monarch looks like he's been through the mill. It's always sad to see when their time is up. Love your composition, shades, tones, colors, and textures. Beautifully done and special moment in time to capture. Well done.

Hi Maureen, I saw the Monarch fluttering around and had no idea it was in this shape till I arrived at the flower. This wasn't the picture I was expecting to take but there was definitely a story within. It definitely makes us appreciate these lovely butterflies when in their full glory! Thanks for the great review! :o) Nancy

Hi Brian, your review is a little confusing. I didn't do anything to change the color of the butterfly. This Monarch not only had tattered wings but very faded color too. You're seeing the original color of its faded wings. I don't think I've ever seen a Monarch so worn and faded. If you weren't referring to the butterfly what were you referring to? :o) Appreciate you being so aware of what's in an image. Thanks for the great review! :o) Nancy

you are welcome maybe it was the rest of it

Hi Brian All the colors were natural. I didn't change them. Still not sure what you wanted to see but happy you liked the image. I was just curious to know. Thanks for taking the time to reply! :o) Nancy

Lovely presentation! The precision in the tattered wings of the butterfly brings out the infallible truth--life is transient! The intricate details create a beautifully clean and minimalist aesthetic. Well done! Here goes my SIX for you, Nancy.

Such a poignant shot of a tattered, old butterfly, with her beauty fading away. Very nicely presented here with great colors and clarity. I will be planting flowers this year to attract the monarchs

Love reading the accompanying artist notes. Indeed, some good things never last. At least this monarch can still fly and do its regular routine like visiting this lovely bloom. High on creativity and storytelling potential. This scene is a bit symbolic and also inspiring.

Hi Nieves, I was surprised that this Monarch still had the ability to fly. I guess where there is a will there is a way! Thank you for the great review! I'm glad this image touched you! :o) Nancy

Aww. Such a beautiful image, here, of your tattered Monarch butterfly. Makes me a little sad for its short life. But the gorgeous Orange Zinnia makes the image so much more pleasurable. Dont you just love Zinnias? You really do such lovely work my friend. She needs a poem!

Hi Jewell. Thank you My Friend for the super wonderful review! It was kind of a sad image but it reminds us that beauty will always be
renewed. I do love zinnias and how as they get older their centers look like they're filled with chenille. If I can find the words I might write a poem for this. :o) Nancy
