Nice one Ray. I like her hands in the pockets and the big shoes. I haven't decided where she is standing. I will have to give that a little more thought. Always like your color choices. Well done:)

Jirina, thank you so much for your fabulous review and rating. "Go to San Francisco, with ribbons in her hair". I wanted to show a young girl, anxious and confident, but shy and questioning. I am so glad you enjoy it. Ray

Ray,
A beautiful Ink & Acrylic painting of the young girl with white ribbons in her hair dressed in a white blouse with orange trousers & comfortable shoes set against a very colourful background. Created in your artist's eye for composition very skilful draftsmanship & & brushwork, beautiful choice & application of your colours in bringing this scent to life on your canvas.

Susan, thank you so much for your wonderful review, rating and complements. I portrayed her as young, innocent and anxious with her whole life ahead of her. I have two daughters whom I have learned from.

Susan, this appears to be a double, Let Tom know I think he will be able to correct it. Ray

I like how you have painted her tuck in shirt and wide-leg pants. Her facial features are pretty defined. Her was a bit overdone and unconventional with diverse colors. Excellent painting skills and framing placement. The contrasting colors in the background fits well and the vertical orientation is appropriate and accomodated your subject in standing position. A nice piece, Ray.

Hi Nieves I am glad you enjoy this. You know that young ones sometimes do things that attract attention. This girl is not from an affluent family, she borrowed her brothers shoes for the portrait. She created a head piece from scrap pieces of ribbon, hence the title. Thank you for your wonderful review. Oh, yes. Sometimes, they have rainbow hair. I actually noticed the shoes that it looks like a man's shoes. My kids loves combat shoes so I thought that's just her style.

Hi Ray, I like both the background and the young lady with ribbons in her hair. I even like how you subject is posing with hands in pocket. I think a lot of people don 't know what to do with their hands when having their picture taken, so I like that you captured the moment that way. I don't know if it's just me but your subject does seem to have big feet! LOL Love the image regardless!

Hi Nancy, Those are her brothers shoes and I totally agree with you. I originally wanted her to be a young immigrant girl from Peru. I am glad you like it. Thank you for the wonderful review. Turkey day is on its way. Ray

This is a fabulous piece of art done by a talented artist! I love this style! The simple pose of the girl with ribbons in her hair, Wearing her slouchy pants and casual shoes, inspires my imagination To think of stories that would go along with it. I love the appearance of crackling paint in the background and your technique with the fine lines in black. Very nice!

While gazing at this acrylic, my mind goes to so many potential stories to be told.

The background set's the story in my mind. I imagine this girl trying to find herself in an urban setting or busy city with immense hustle and bustle.
I see her journey to be or become independent. Her hands in the pocket suggest she is either timid or alternatively confident.

The ribbons create a flare of interest as me have all witnessed young girls experimenting with their appearance.

Scale, detail, color, contrast is abundant and comes together to make a wonderful piece.

Well done, Ray.
