Pat,
A finger chilling picture of Byron glacier as it very slowly makes it's way to the coast & into the sea framed by the sunlit snow capped mountains & the blue grey sky above. Beautiful composition framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Great capture, Pat, showing this wonderful glacier. I like the angle you used for this. Great camera techniques - I love all the patterns shown in the ice and snow. Very impressive. Excellent composition.
Wishing you all the best for Christmas and the New Year. Suzanne

So now I know where Portage is. It is absolutely spectacular, my friend.
The cold and pro as tine scenery are just so nicely presented that we would not guess that it so frigid and hard to take pictures too. Great !

Pat, this so sharp and clear it is outstanding! The sharp mountain peaks on each side of the glacier seems to guide the eyes into the infinite distance. The ice and light blue hues make this presentation quite mystical. I love it.

This is truly an amazing shot of the glacier. It is a wonder how the glacier stays frozen and melts from underneath and reforms. This is enough to humble anyone. Ray

Wow, what astonishing drama in this photo. The texture is amazing using light to the full advantage. Your camera angle was perfect.
The rugged mountains in the background contrast with the soft clouds. The clouds almost seem to moving in front of us.
This should be used in an art class on teaching how color and texture can make a photo so appealing.
Nice to see landscapes from AK, very unique.

Remarkable! I have never seen a glacier close up like this before. Thank you for this opportunity. Talk about standing in an icebox! I'm looking at this image in awe and trying to figure out how to proceed / record my initial impressions.
Starting from the base of the frame. The ice looks as though it was melting / moving and then froze in place as it was about to ascend downward. The dark rock / terrain with the frozen snow resembles the appearance of Ashes. Then it picks up this hue of blue in the middle of the frame (stunning). Then those mountain peaks appear to act as the sides of a bowl, holding the glacier in place, while framing this image beautifully. Finally, we have the sky that is such a phenomenal blue (I imagine the coolness effects the sky color - just guessing).
Damn Pat! This is one of the most captivating, intriguing, compelling, fascinating... "Beautiful" shots I've ever seen. And your skill as a "Professional" photographer has brought it to FAR for an extraordinary review.

In the heart of wilderness, a glasier's calmness echoes the poetry of untamed landscapes. The framing is excellent, and the interplay of light, shadows, and colours creates a harmonious composition. Great job! Here's my first six for the week. Cheers!
