This is so calming and peaceful with a hint of dreaminess in the soft colors. The fish adds that feeling of accomplishment or success. A skillfully achieved pastel that invokes the feeling of relaxation and stillness. Composed with elements to set the scene of realism and remind this viewer to get her fishing license renewed. LOL Very, Very Nice Maureen.

This does remind you of summer days more so if you walk by a river/lake the various shades of color [be it subdued] gives us a wimiscal view into a time ago when its not winter...Brian

Hi Maureen, Looks like this little fisherman found the perfect spot to fish from. I would have chosen that log too. Love the way you created this little stream. I like the sides of the bank to the clouds in the sky. You created the perfect view of a meandering stream and its natural surroundings. I enjoyed the view! :o) Nancy

I love this painting, a lone boy fishing, in the country by the river. The colors and textures are very descriptive of the countryside and lend a peaceful and warm country feeling.

Such a classic and ideal childhood scene for this little boy catching a fish. I really love the setting of this calm water framed by grass blades on the shore. Your have also lead our eyes on the farthest end with another layers of greeneries in dark and light green tones. Those trees added so much life, in this composition, too. The water made an excellent mirror for the overcast sky and the reflections especially for your character wearing a hat. Excellent concept, choice of realistic scene and use of colors, framing, and storytelling potential. This made me think of the boyhood of my brothers. SIX!
