This photograph of the giraffe focuses on capturing the emotions, expressions, and personality of a subject and its interesting face. The framing, light, shadows, and colours all come together well. Good effort.

Your photo shows us nice details of this giraffe as it's laying down. Their markings are extraordinary and I like the all natural colors that your shot brings. It's a very good nature photograph, thank you for sharing.

reminds of someone i know eating. the clarity is great. the angle of the shot of this giraffe chilling and chewing is great. the capture of the light is good. the presentation is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

A very nice photograph of the giraffe. Good focus and clarity, showing off his markings very well. A pity you couldn't take out the background to prevent so many distractions. Good luck in the contest.

think the dof is to wide in this and needed to be more shallow because although the giraffe is sharp so is the background in this which tends to offset the good shot of the giraffe, you could try trimming some of the right in this...Brian

The focus is the cute animal, but I will crop it. Dof?
reply by suffolkbrian on 10-Jan-2025
you are welcome dof is when you have a subject in focus and the background out of focus in other words the narrow the dof the better this shot would have been

I cropped it so you can give me five stars.
reply by suffolkbrian on 10-Jan-2025
yes its better but i still refer to the background being out of focus
reply by the author on 10-Jan-2025
It is not out of focus.
reply by suffolkbrian on 10-Jan-2025
did not say it was think you have misunderstood what i said thegiraffe is sharp but when you take these sort of photos the background needs to be out of focus or maybe shoot against a more plainer background it would then be a better photo

    Ok
reply by the author on 10-Jan-2025
So you are saying there should have been less in the background I guess
reply by suffolkbrian on 11-Jan-2025
    yes exactly

The picture was taken at the Hogle Zoo so there could not have been ess in the background.

The giraffe is adorable and I like the way it is laying down with its legs folded.
Well placed within the frame , we get a good sense of its location.
Well focused and exposures the colors and tones here appear true and natural.
I love the giraffe color pattern.
Well presented!

This is such a cute capture of this giraffe. It's amazing how those long legs don't get in their way when they are resting. The image is sharp, positioned nicely in the frame and the colors are true, natural and realistic.
