Hi Bob, Love the way the lines on the the Grosbeak's breast seem to match the board he's resting on. I think I'd make the mistake this bird as a Purple Finch. He looks very much like one. Lighting and focus show this little guy off well.
I enjoyed! :o) Nancy

The Pine Grosbeak is a pretty bird. You were able to capture it's raw beauty on the fence post. Angle is excellent, lighting is great. Beautifully done, thank you for sharing this!

What a beautiful capture of the strange-sounding bird! The way you framed it feels intentional and balanced, and the combination of light, shadows, and colours brings an almost painterly quality to the composition. Excellent work!

Bob,
A beautiful picture of the Pine Grosbeak ~ Pinicola enucleater on top of a wooden fence the dark background makes it stand out clearly with it's red face, & speckled brown & white breast it's wings & back are darker it also has a seed in it's beak. Beautiful composition framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

This is a beautiful little bird, it looks completely different from the pine grosbeaks we have here, unless there are different types, could this be a male house finch?
Either way, this one is well captured and nicely placed within the frame, I like the way it is posed to offer a good look at its side profile.
Well focused, this image is clear and your exposure is correct, colors and tones appear natural,
A connection between this bird and the viewer is established because of that nice glint in the eye.
The bird is standing out beautifully from the railing and the soft green tones in background.
Well composed and presented!

A wonderful photograph of this Pine Grosbeak; a lovely looking little bird. Good focus and clarity with excellent details of his feathers and colors shown. The blurred background helps not to detract from the image.

Hi Bob, This Pine Grosbeak can't be bad if he likes pine nuts. He wears a red mask and sports that beak. You caught him on this fence rail, probably close to the pines. Nicely focused and framed. Thank you for sharing. Ray

The bird being cocky says "I guess your women can't get enough of me that they send you out here? Tell them I'll meet her later on in the bedroom windows!" LOL.. cool capture. The clarity is great. The angle of the shot of this bird perched on the board is great. The capture of the light is great. The presentation is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. Good eye and great job overall.
