We have the freshwater otters in the UK, but I've never seen a Sea Otter - are they bigger than ours? He certainly looks it.
I like that you've managed to capture him looking straight at you - he looks wary! Lol

Such a beautiful scene of this otter on the sandy shore. I love the clarity of its whiskers and the prominent textures of the sandy shore. Excellent angle and framing placement.

Pat, This is one of those times you look at an animals face and you really want to know what they're thinking. This one looks very docile.
It's interesting how this photo takes on a black and white appearance when I don't think you used a Black-and-white filter because I can see a little bit of brown in there. :)
I like the position that you captured him in.
You have framed him well and This is great balance. As always, a very clear photograph well focused and Good exposure!
Now, I want to put my feet in the sand!

Exceptional detail in both Mr Otter and the sand. The toning of colours here is well thought out. It is crisp yet ai see the siftness of the fur. The slight colouration around his head and back makes the eye focus in to the subject capture.

Nice wildlife shot Pat of this otter,here on our coast we have an abundance of grey seals and you can do boat trips to see them [have yet to do so] hopefully will one day....Brian
