Oh my goodness Ray, I feel very honored that I inspired you to create this! I feel like I'm peeking thru a screen door. Very clever! Love the view inside! I definitely would want to venture in. Love going into antique shops and poke around. I think you did an amazing job with this! :o) Nancy

Hi Nancy, thank you for the inspiration from your screen door presentations. I went the whole gambit with a screen, painting through it and using it as a stamp to create texture. Thank you for your wonderful review, rating and compliments. Ray

Hi Nancy, It is nice when things just happen and work out. I had fun doing this piece and I had to tell you all about it and thank you for the inspiration. I like letting the title and painting tell a story with no lenghtly description, but thats me some times a lengthly discussion is necessary. Thank you for your wonderful review , rating and compliments. I am so glad you enjoyed it. As I paint this abstract I would stand back and see how it developed and then the eclectic collection reminded me of a Curiosity Shop, hence the title. Ray

Have been in shops like this and you can be in there ages,although you can,t quite make out the pieces in this[abstract will do that] you can get a sense of the place,us brits find these places unique[its why we see a lot on british t.v]......Brian

Jewell, your question first I use a gel pen but it skips sometimes on acrylic so I am looking to go back to pen and bottled ink. I am so glad I blow you away sometimes and I am glad you understand my art. Thank you for your wonderful review, rating and compliments. I am glad you like it. Ray

Cindy Sue, I always explore new techniques and I love adding light an color to a black beginning. When I was younger my mother collected Depression glass and she would take me around to antique shops and thrift stores and that is my inspiration. I had a lot of fun doing this one. Once I draw you in, the illusions of the colored objects keep your attention and you discover the feel of the curiosity Shop even though you are not positive about what you are seeing, i am sure you understand. Yes, this is the curiosity shop. The only 2 items that I can easily identify were the clock and a basket of flowers hanging on the wall. So I am curious what else is under all those layers of color and broad strokes? It is very appealing to the eye as an abstract and it keeps the viewer coming back to look over and over again to figure out what else they can find in the shop. I think it's great that you were experimenting. I can see that you put a lot of time, thought and creativity into it.
