This is a great entry for the contest. Focal point is well placed and immediately grabs the viewer's attention and holds it there, thanks to the bold, red color of the rose, in contrast to the soft, olive bokeh of the background. It is eye appealing and interesting, has sharp focus, excellent exposure and framing of the subject matter is well done.

a rose is a rose is a rose till you pay a fortune of dozen of them for that loved one. if one doesnt ones sleeping arrangements can be discomforting..wink.lol..nice capture..the angle of the shot of this rose with lil beads of water on the petals is great. the capture of the light is great. the clarity is great. the presentation is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

What a beautiful rose. Love that you captured the rain or dew drops in the petals. I am a real fan of taking dew. The only thing I would suggest, and it's just me, is I would crop a small amount off the top, not much. That would make it not so centered and ad balance. I like the nice bokeh background as well. Nice shot Paul :)

This rose looks like velvet. The tiny dew drops on the petals appear to be exactly the right size for the blossoming rose. The subtle background brings a relaxed nature to the vibrant rose.
