It's a super painting Suzanne. Having your son sat there in quiet contemplation really adds personal interest and I get a real sense of the place. Just lovely!

Very nice painting with lots of detail. The composition is well balanced with a nice angle looking slightly down on your son but still retaining the whole of the peninsula in the background. The oils give a sense of warmth and soft lighting. The breaking waves on the rocks add interest. Thanks for sharing

I feel that the distant rock/hill and walking tracks could possibly have been placed further away. The man/boy sitting on the beach could be looking at swimmers in the water or watching his pet dog in the distance. I cannot decide whether it should be a warm or cool day. The texture on the sand has be captured very nicely.

Thank you for your comments. In actual fact the rocks are not distant at all, it's only a small cove so they are very close. My son was just contemplating, not actually looking at anything.
