This is absolutely beautiful. I love your use of colors and the wonderful shapes, details and textures in the painting. It does look like a Leopard laying in a Poppy patch. Wonderful job. Good luck in the contest

Very striking and decorative floral composition. The texture of the poppies, both the buds and the petals are well defined and appealing. The warm, giraffe design in the background also adds interest and contrast to the red of the poppies. I am pretty sure you could eliminate a bit of the black portion on the right side without losing any of the nice qualities about the picture. The black tends to dominate a bit more than it needs to, but that's just one viewer's opinion. I love the subject, the color, the details and the composition though.
well done!

I like this a lot. The colour of the poppies is vibrant without being too bright. The leopard like background is excellent; I really like the dark background on the right;
Very nice work

This is a truly beautiful work of art. It is so cleverly designed with the light falling to one side illuminting the poppies and the lovely "leopard" background. Just shows what a master of this art form you are.

Stunning, your use of the patterned background fading into black is brilliant. The poppies remain true in shape and color. To me this is very reminiscent of Lucia Mathews work from the arts and crafts era. Her poppies were very distinctive in as much she used rich nuanced tones in nature for the colors of the flowers, and your leopard print background uses the same gold's browns and even the black the she used for the colors of her flowers. The highlights on the flowers and buds add a brilliance and the shadows define the shape of the flowers. Beautifully composed and extremely well thought out. I love this. Sandy
