Great capture of a black subject, which is always difficult. Love the begging eyes and flopped ear. Wow, 165 lbs. Bet she/he sleeps anywhere they want:) Thanks for sharing.

LOL.. He is a dog!..Chewing on your forearms is perfectly acceptable activity ..Its not like he can take your hand in his paw to go out and play!... At 165 though he may just be able to convince you to be good or else!...
I have two black Labs and do know the total pain it is to get the lighting good.. I love the ear but the whites are to bright and you know it!..lol.. Still I love this and those dark eyes are so perfect for begging treats!...lol Life with out a dog is a life without sun....Dennis

LOL! Yes, he can be quite convincing to get me to do anything--my clout level is not very high with this Dane--Yes, I was without a dog for 8 years--just too broken when my last Dane died in my lap. Hubby was constantly saying that in 32 years he has never known me without a dog---guess he could not stand it any longer and surprised me a couple years back on Valentine's--this Dane has been a different journey than any others---Thank you Dennis for your fun review, I appreciate your time and you!

I have been there!..My golden retriever before the Black Labs had cancer and had to be put to sleep while I held him in my arms...A moving experience that brought this construction worker to his knees crying.. I had my Lab "boomer" already picked out and picked up the puppy the next day.. It helped me through the grief and soon I can to see the line was unbroken... A wonderful thought that these simple animals can evoke so much feeling in our hearts!..A day without a dog is not worth living!.... D.

Great focus,i like the funny position of the ear of the puppy and the white things he is laying on makes him stand out.Good framing. One recomendation.Dogs love peanut butter.Next time ask someone to put some of on the tip of his nose and your dog will make some unbelievable faces that you will love to photograph.Give it a try!

You made good use of strong contrast here to show the face of your puppy. You present very good detail in the black fur. Your puppy needs instruction on nourishment, as none of his favorite foods except your forearms provide any.

And that is what crates were invented for LOL!!
I had a Harlequin that I just lost about a year ago... She out lived her entire family by 2 years as I had her on very good supplements but even at that she was 10 short of 10 years old but acted like a puppy to the end!
Black subjects are very hard to get really good photographs of but the focus on the face looks VERY good on this and the lighting works well and the only problem here is the usual with some of the black blending into the black.
Overall, very cute shot!!

My first Great Dane was given to me by a co-worker and I have been hooked on this breed since. I have been 8 years without a dog because I was so heart broken over the death of my last, he was 9 years and died in my lap. The Dane before that one lived to be 12 years old and was 198 lbs. Funny I have never had a Harlequin but always wanted one! Thank you so much for your great review and I certainly appreciate your time!

The focus and composition looks great but that cute face gets lost against his body so it's difficult to lock eyes with him.
That popped ear looks great, it makes him look playful and as if he was caught in a moment of mischief :)
