beautiful presentation of nature and the lone hunter.here the viewer soars the sky and forrest.initial impact is misty and dark/adding to the feeling of solitude/one with mature.i picture one of our artists in his kayak approaching soon.

This looks great! Wonderful composition. I like how accent goes to highlighted parts of image and then eye stops on bird's silhouette. Sepia tone looks great. Well done!

This picture is so lovely. The colours give it a gloomy, yet calming look. Well done, it really is a lovely picture :) It could really tell some story!

Oh, wow, Shawn. This picture is incredibly beautiful. You happen to have an AMAZING talent, and my measly five stars in no way does it justice. Everything about this is just so beautiful. From the little isthmus and break in the tree line where that glowing reflection offsets and compliments the arc of light above it.
The clouds and sky look so real--I thought it was a photo at first. And the bird hovering above makes it genuinely living. So much more could be said. Love the splashes of colour on either side, too. You've created a place I'd sure love to visit. Amazing artistry.

Another excellent piece of work Shawn. Love all the shadow in the foreground and the great detail for the main subject. Creates a very good impact in b & w. Really quite taken by this one. Very well done. flanders

you're very welcome - I'm still caught up in this - I went back in to look at the picture again - it's a very moody piece of work. flanders

I grew up in Washington State, and it was not unusual to have days like this, so I guess you could say I painted it from memory. LOL. You may think me crazy, but I love rainy/cloudy days. Love to walk in the rain :)

That's pretty! I think i have more questions then input. Did this art come from a photo first? Or did you paint from the software the whole photo? I love the dull colors, how you have the flow of light going thur the photo.

Good afternoon, Jewel. I see that you're new to FAR, and I welcome you. I just want to point out that your review and your rating for this piece don't match. Usually when you give a work such a low low low rating, it's only fair to the artist or photographer to mention why you have given it anything below a five star rating :) There are no photos involved in this painting. It is painted just like a traditional artist would do it, only on a virtual canvas and using my mouse. A 3.5 rating shows me that you feel this piece needs a major overhaul, but your review tells me you think it's OK! :) I thank you so much for the review, but I'm afraid I need some clarification on this one. Again, welcome to FAR! I sincerly hope you enjoy your stay with us :) Shawn

Moonwillow- This is beautiful. You out did yourself on this one. I love the silhouette of the trees and the bird against the shadows of the sky. The reflection on the water is a wonderful touch and adds depth to the picture. Great job! Wendy
