I love Tiger Lily but they won't grow down here. Your picture is a delightful reminder of their beauty. The limited color of vase and flowers are a great idea in the monochrome picture. These colors as the incoming daylight and the beautiful shadow soften the serious settings of the room.

Good light source creating shadows and highlighting edges of vase.
Just a little color on lillies and vase to offset the black and white is a nice version

Love this. Very dramatic and it has a lot of story-telling ability and a really strong initial impact. The colors in it are beautiful and it makes me think of those murder mystery novels and the romance scenes between the detective and whatever love interest he has. Really nice.

and a superb version it is too. Beautiful creation Shawn. I love the whole concept of the room. Wonder who the flowers were for? The addition of the main subject in a room context adds great character and depth to this picture. late afternoon shadows?? hint at the window beyond. great storytelling appeal in this. Wonderful painting, I love it. I love the way it looks, in photographers words, colored selectively:) Details in the black and white are gorgeous, lighting most beautiful. I love the colors of the flowers too, only they seem a bit blurred, maybe the resizing did that. Thanks for sharing this beauty.
