The balance of this whole piece is remarkable. I love the way you have captured her arms, shoulders, the expression of her face and the patterning of her blouse. The softness you achieve with shading and your mastery of shading is truly beautiful to look at. I hope you are represented by a gallery, because you need to be. Someone needs to showcase this gift you have to the world.

Maureen, your words have lifted me so high. Thank you so very much for the 6 star rating. There are no galleries interested in my work. My dad was an artist, and he had an agent. Before my dad died, he put me in touch with this agent. He wasn't interested in my work. He told me that pencil was not a selling art form. People want color. So from that moment on, I decided to draw for others. To bless people who needed uplifting.

I just got accepted at Xanadu Gallery in Scottsdale, Arizona. My work is offered online there. They have an actual gallery, and if people show great interest in an online artists work (which people in the gallery can peruse), then that artist is invited to show at the gallery. The owner is Jason Horejs. His father is also an artist. He offers through email for free courses (simple to do) to help aspiring artists get recognition, representation, etc. One of the assignments was to submit work to his online gallery for free for 2 months. He notified me I was accepted and am now represented by him. His suggestions to artists are written so gently. I know he would love to see your work. He liked mine and honestly, your drawings are greater in talent, power, beauty - and I'm not being flattering to you or deprecating to me.

The hair detail is amazing, Linda. You really did a super job creating the texture right down to those wispy strands on the lower left. You are the champion to me of rendering facial expression with your pencil medium. This one just exudes a story to tell. Wonderful showcase of your expertise on the use of light and shadow also. Excellent.
