Wow! Very cool! This is unique! I like the colors and how some birds are almost hidden but they are there. The dark in the middle seems mysterious. I don't know what I think about the wolf, the more I look at it, the more I like it.
Well done!

Thank you very much. The Wolf is part of the fairytale [Ivan Tsarevich and the Gray Wolf] Stravinsky's ballet The Firebird is partly based on. He is one of the good guyes.

This is an interesting composition. You have used the freedom that digital technology offers to image-makers. You have created a digital image that at once appears captivating in its composition. Good luck in the contest.

Good initial impact. Good focus and lighting. Rich color harmony. The firebird in the center is the center of interest. Good composition, cropping and framing. Good technique, technical skill and story telling potential. Creativity in title, presentation and combining the themes from FAIRYTALES and BALLET.

I love this remarkable piece of digital art, not to mention I'm a huge fan of wolves. Great focus, angle, contrast, color and artistic view.

This has a very haunting look..the colors have a lot of depth, and the composition itself is almost like a fire opening into the image of the bird..well done! I can almost hear the music in the background as it builds. Great color choices, and a super image. Donkeyoatey

I find it very spiritual! (even fairytales have a moral!) Donkeyoatey

Especially fairytales have a moral. Do you know the story of Ivan Tsarevich, the Firebird and the Grey Wolf?
reply by donkeyoatey on 25-Jul-2011
NO..but I am going to be looking it up online! Donkeyoatey

Maybe you'll find The golden Bird, The golden Apples and/or The golden Mermaid. They are all in the same group based on the mythical bird. XXX

I want the mermaid! LOL Donkeyoatey

Just a comment, I think you did a cut and past on the comments and that puts all kinds of "stuff" in the comments that need to be edited out. You need to check the comments before you post, or at least go back and correct them. They are disconcerting.

The colors are wonderful as is the imagery that it brings forth. I always look at the art before I read the artist's notes, which I did in this case. But, in this case I did have to read the notes on this to fully appreciate the work. I really love the firebird in the center of the black swirl. I happen to love ballet, but it has been so long since I have seen any, I honestly don't think I have ever seen the Firebird in person. This is really a very nice piece.

Thank you very much for your thought review and your helping comment as. The comments are already changed. That 'stuff' dos not show up on the entry page. not even when you use the FAR-spell check. One has to go to the portfolio and open the picture to check on it. I know it happens all the time. I usually past my comments from my files. I normally avoid all these grammar signs when writing for FAR. Well I didn't realized my spell check was on auto and put the ascent de gue, were I didn't. I realized it to late. You were unfortunately one of the first reviewers who read before I could change it. I really appreciate telling me about and I am sorry for the inconvenience.
the Firebird is a beautiful ballet with outstanding music. There are also several concert versions[Suites], written by Stravinsky himself. The music is widely used. The ice skater Evan Lysacek used Firebird music for his short program during the Winter Olympics in Vancouver [2010] and several modern musicians and performers including Rock- and Hip-Hop bands have based their titles on Stravinskys music. If you could see the ballet or hear the music by any chance, I think you will enjoy it.

I think I did see Evan do his performance to the Firebird. I usually watch all of the ice skating during the Olympics. I'm glad you were able to fix the comments. I know it happened to me once and I had to fix it right away. I have cut and pasted since then without a problem, but I don't know what was different between the first and subsequent times. However, I will be sure in the future that I double check my comments any time I do the cut and paste. Usually I write my comments on the page, but when I was posting detailed comments from Israel, I had to make sure my research was correct, so I had to take a lot of time in writing them. I will have to look up the Stravinsky music.

Thank you for your kind reply. I usually past. It happens all the time with these signs. It seems the only working sign are semicolon, comma, point and Question mark.

This has some interesting qualities. I like the red that makes the images come to life. Nice light on the right side of the picture. Very nice. Pat

Thank you very much Pat. The right side, Protected by the Firebird and the wolf, is the side from were the light comes back into the world and the demons have varnished after the sorcerer's death.
