The 2nd most beautiful bird most definitly (b.eagle is 1st!). I love how crystal clear the eye and the rest of the body looks. Just wish the lighting was better. That would make it the perfect picture!

This is a nice shot of the goldfinch. The detail in the feathers is interesting and well captured. The dark background works well and the tone of the feather colouring actually seems to gradually blend with the background. There is a nice catchlight in the eye of the finch. Birds and one of the hardest things to photo and you did well to capture this with the interesting alert look. I would be interested a see a second shot showing more of the bird but this composition seems appropriate with the head shot. Really nice effort.
