This is such a cute pastel of this little owl. I love the colors in him and the background is very nice showing the owl off nicely! I love it's little eyes they are so sweet! Another nice piece of art from you.

That is a very interesting story. There is probably some truth to it. It is not the first time I have heard of the Owl protecting folks against things. There is really a lot of texture in this piece. I like the large eyes you have given him. You did a great job with the feathers. Very nice color. Your choice of background seems to move you subject forward adding depth in the piece. This is very well done. Quite enjoyable! Best of luck with the contest.

The eyes say it all here. My feeling is he is watching over every thing. You have done a fine job here with the use of chalk and pastel colors. The technique you used to create his feathers works very well. Colors and hues are also good. I might suggest you try one more layer of the darker brown and gray especially under his right tuft of white under the beak and deepen the gray on the right side of beak. I love the way you marbled the background making the feeling of movement there. You story of the owl is very good as well. Keep up the good work.
