Yes, not a bad idea to go back and do it again. Next time make sure that your focus is crisp, particularly with cactus as this is the only thing which is wrong with this photo. When you are this close, your focus and DOF must be spot on. Otherwise your composition, is very good and your lighting and color are great. Dominating the shot with the cactus is also dramatic. Using flash was also a good idea. Looking forward to seeing the next one.

This is a very interesting photo, but I think you may have lost the imact it might have if you had not done it in a close up, or maybe at a slightly different angle to bring out the sharpness of the needles.

Oh he looks soft and fuzzy Mary!l.o.l. Nice sharp focus on the front of the cactus plant and the green is as natural as it gets! Nice framing for a wonderful close up of the cactus! The dark b.g. compliments the plant well!
