Did you ever see the movie "Brother where for Art Thou" and the sirens there? They seduced the men and turned them into frogs.
Glad your stretching the myth even farther.
very creative work with the skulls on top and the samba/fiesta like costumes. The waving lower bodies in hot pink really make it. Well actually the entire body wave with the waving backround and the textures around and between them, all the colors, make this.
good composition and design and balance.
lots of interesting detail.
well done.

Thank you so much for your toughtfull and informative review. I am honored by your high rating and happy you like my take on the Sirens.
No I did not see the movie [I am living out of country], but read the synopsis. Seems funny: Frogs! Funny it reminds me of Circe who used to change sailors into pigs, dosn't it?. Actually I got that idea from the description the same Circe gives of the Sirens in Homers Odyssey as ...lolling in heaps of corpses and bones.
These costumes and heads are part of the original doll featuring Catrina the most famous of the Calacas [Mexican Skeleton Dolls]. It is one single doll, multiplied and distorted.

Conceptually brilliant work here. The soft pastel green back ground is very appealing and presents the three sailors wonderfully. Like The way they are free flowing like they are in the water doing a ballet.

Interesting spin on the sirens, always thought they were supposed to be beautiful girls with lovely singing voices that lured men at sea to them...this is interesting the way you have portrayed it.

Thank you very much. You are right, that is the common interpretation, beautiful but deadly. On the other hand in Circe's description [Homers Odyssey] the are "lolling in their valley with hives of rotting corpses surrounded by bones..." To show themselves as skeletons it a bit of a stretch, but who knows? It's all a question of reception. From far away they look beautiful and who ever came to close to the Sirens can't tell anymore.

Thank you very much, I appreciate your kind review and your input. The pink is not coming out of the bodies, but is the original dress of the Mexican Skeleton Doll [Calaca]. I can't change it since it is part of the doll, same as the head.

Very vivid colors. I like the overall impression of the artwork. Perhaps the edit was a bit too over-the-top, and the image is to tacky, but I think this might be a matter of taste. All in all an excellent attempt.

Thank you very much, I appreciate your kind review and your input. The tackiness was intentional, I just call it humor. Surely it is a matter of taste; but what is taste? I think taste like art and beauty is relative and personnal and it is always in the eye of the beholder. Would be boring otherwise.

Oh this is so cleverly done! I love this sort of fantasy art when it's as well executed and creative as this.
