again you have made a super creation. the notes are an education and very important to understand the image on show. the way you have created this is wonderful. the textures and the many, many shades of exquisite green. i have once had a supernatural visitation and almost died of fright but I would not mind if this delightful nymph, suddenly materialized. well done cleo for your work is always of the highest quality.
cheers mr jones.
ps. i have another little mystery (to be solved) for you but one of an insect variety.

Thank you very much. This one was a bit complicated. I had to get her mutual connection to the tree and her ability to leave it at will. I needed a wile to get that.
I would send her over for a sudden materialization, but I doubt that wifi would appreciate it. LOL
You know I love mysteries. Is it on line already? I am just catching up. I had some weather related Internet issues again.

you did such a great job cleo. so cool and very clever!

i saw a monster wasp or bee in my garden. does not resemble a honey bee, bumble bee, common wasp or hornet (or any wasp or bee species in GB). it was about the size of my thumb! really a disturbing creature (and flew close to my ear). i took a photo but not clear but before i could get a proper macro shot, it flew off (typical really)! i can send you by email.if you like?

Yes send it. I am still on the shop mystery. I am sure its a cruzer, not a submarine; but I cannot find anymore out about. The unit evidently n ever draw public attention. The Sowjets never gave informations voluntary anyway and it did not change much since.

A wonderful entry into the contest. The green colour gradations are well coordinated and blend in such a lovely way. I like the light that falls on her face, and the movement that is suggested by the colour changes. Good luck. Cyn

Still can't give that six..darn!! you gave us a history leson (mythology style) AND a great painting as well! LOVE the sense of movement, and the way the dryad is unfusing (is that a word?)from the tree! I LOVE her face, she has all the aspects of a tree, but the feel of a goddess! Lovely work, should be a winner! Donkeyoatey

Who gives a huh about ratings. I got your review and I am happy you like her. If unfusing was not a word before, now it is. Language is a living change, new words come up all the time. To paint that unfusing wasn't easy, because I had to show her mutual connection with the wood and her ability to leave it at will.

I was studying how you did that..believe it or not, this was an idea,I was playing with, only my dryad was WAY meaner! LOL! Donkeyoatey
reply by the author on 21-Aug-2012
Once again, the same idea? Well they are not mean by nature; but may indifferent to humans. They could get mean, if humans disobey nature, especially if one of their own get killed by human ignorance. It would be very interesting to see your idea in a picture :-)

I have a list of ideas, and when I find the right tree, and person, I will give it a whirl! I usually have five or six going at the same time! Donkeyoatey

She is lovely and looks like she just emerged from under a particularly beautiful leaf of her tree. Your color choices on this create a very dreamy and special world. Strong composition brings the eye right to the nymph but then encourage it to wander around enjoying all the other details.

this is lovely Cleo, such a magical and mystical feel to it. I just love the whole dreamy fantasy land you have created. I could picture this in a fairy tale book. I think its going to do very well in the contest. Good luck with it

Thank you very much for your review, your contest wishes and all those stars. A high rating from you feels like 100 stars. You are close. I am adapting international myths, folk-and fairy tales into English. A very slow process.

If this is all done digitally you are so clever, I wouldn't know where to start, and you obviously have a good eye and plenty of talent. The colors are gorgeous, and it is just an all round good composition, well done

Thank you very much! It is indeed all done digitally but in a traditional way. I move my tools on a pad. A bit like finger painting :-)

Good morning and I love this, just beautiful. She is almost a ghost and if you look long enough she seems to move. The color are breathtaking. THe detail without definite lines is fab, not sure how this process works but the end product is to die for, beautiful work. Hope youhave a wickedd day, C

Thank you very much! This was not easy. I had to show her mutual connection with the tree and her ability to retreat into it; but also her ability to leave the tree, On top she is a Nature Spirit, probably not as substantial as a human.
