Wow you have done a great job on this art piece. Congratulations. I say them in calgary Zoo. I wasn't quite prepared for the size of them. I knew they were big but not that big. A great landscape as well.

    Thank you! :-)
You should see them in Yellowstone. Those herds go into the thousands. It is breathtaking when they thunder down the hills of Hayden Valley.

I can just imagine the sight but until you see them do that you wouldn't really understand the sight and the impact that it would leave on you.

Nice work!
I really like the look of this one! I live close to Owensboro Kentucky which is also called the buffalo trace. There is a statue of a buffalo there. I have found arrow heads in the river bottoms and some I am sure killed a buffalo.

    Thank you very much.
WOW! Arrow heads. I wished I would have found some on our travels. They only one, I ever found was a small head for bird hunting, on the beach nearby or home at the Yucatan.

they are hard to find now since the farmers dont break the ground anymore but when i was in my teens we found a lot of arrow heads. i have seen a few spear points and a lot of the stone ax.

Very good painting. I would look good on the wall.
I don't know if you still live in Berlin, but if you were a child in the 40's, you must be around 60 or so and you will be happy to know that the US and Canada are doing great work in trying to right the wrong that was almost done to the Buffalo. In Yellowstone alone there are now thousands of them roaming free again.

Thank you very much for your kind review. No I do not live in Berlin. we live on the Yucatan Peninsula, the Caribbean coast of Mexico for 17 years now. I am born 49, I am 63. I was a kid in the 50's in Berlin, east. I have seen Yellowstone on our travels [My husband is a US Navy veteran]. Actually my picture is painted after reality. It is some mix of Yellowstone, Custer's State Park,SD and the Great Plains. When I saw those places my childhood dreams came true.

Its nice to know that and I am very glad your dream have become reality. If we fix our mistakes, life is a better place for all.

I dearly hope so; but I see to many draw backs too.

This is beautiful the way you have done it. I like the way you have the buffalo in the picture. I like the way you see the ones up close and then the ones in the distance. The coloring in the grass and trees is great. I like the way you put the shadows under them. The depth you created is excellent. An interesting and excellent work of art.

You brought your dream into manifestation - wonderful scene - the wide land with the forest in the background giving protection for he buffaloes - today there are no more wild herds as I understand and your picture is a real memory of the old west where life still was waste and free

Thank you very much! For my understanding they are getting reintroduced to the wild and some already living there. Truth most of the American Bison [Buffalo] live still in National Parks. Their numbers go into the thousands. I have seen the great herds in Yellowstone in Custer's State Park, SD. My picture is painted after those memories.

Very good composition, colors and textures. I like how you have it going from the foreground to the trees and buffalos in the distance.. gives the picture depth.. the sloping hills adds harmony and interest .. nicely done
