What an interesting digital presentation this is,Cleo!
The 'Arachne' that you refer to in your informative notes isn't one of the Goddesses that the Coven I associate with reveres but the figure in the painting reminds me of a popular Exotic Dancer from up in Montreal at the beginning of one of her more elaborate performances!
'Good Show',my friend!

Thank you very much for your encouraging comments. That you see resemblance to a dancer is interesting. It was not intended but it is indeed a pirouette like move. It seems my dance training slips into my paintings unconsciously.

Very impressive and beautifully presented with an elegance, softness and a mystery of a Greek mythology as well. The coloring, details and the lovely feeling of dress flow of this luck spreading goddess are skillfully created. Great contrast and composition.

Oh where is a 6 when you need them. am giving this a 10. Just love the painting and the history in folk law of the spider. This is so beautiful just so soft and beautiful. As much as spiders are pests I have always admired their webs. they are a brilliant piece of art and people don't understand this and just see a web. I will now see a fairy instead.

No, but do you mean the gossamer that you buy in the tin and spray. You and I are on the same wave length. Remember I was only the one who understood sitting in the row boat looking out on to the water. No one else understood. Sandy

No, not that gossamer. It may got the name from the real thing. What I mean are paintings on canvas which are made from spiderwebs. There are only some 100 on the world. I think it is on Wikipedia, but i have to check. if I find it on the Web, I send you the links.
Yes, I do remember the boat! Cleo

ok, never knew about them. I am typing with one figure as the spoilt brat is curled up on my left arm purring to her little hearts content.

    What a brat!
There is not much but they are on the net under cobweb painting [Article Wikipedia]. I found only one of the pictures. It is a painting of the Virgin Mary at the Chester Cathedral. For unknown reason I cannot send links from the hospital, but I do not know when I have chance to work from my apartment. Sorry!

When I cast my vote in the contest, I thought this was a ballerina performing a spider dance. Your charming misspelling of Arachne in the title turned my mind towards the French dance form, I think. But there really is something very dance-like in this work, as well as a lot of waving going on - ocean waves of fabric floating up from the woman's swirled skirt, for a start. Of course, you meant weaving in your notes, not waving, which is what the Queen does from her carriage, but why not have both? Anyhow, I think this is outstanding digital art.

Magical! Dreamy! Oh so fairytastic!
Love the movement and the sparkling star dust! The spiders seem not so icky here!
Simply dreamy! Bravo!
