A very nice capture indeed Anne of this special place in Greece so close to your heart. The whole scene appears to radiate holiness in the way you caught it, especially the suns rays, well done

This is just breathtaking with excellent color, clarity, initial impact, depth of field.
Whatever you did, you made this photo into a work of art.
Thanks so much for sharing. Liked your notes too.

Beautiful photo. Dramatic sky with an opening in which sunrays stream down. Nice reflections on the water. Great old church building. Very good clarity, beautiful lighting, and good composition. Nice contrasts and very pleasant to view.

Stunning image that just oozes quality.
The rays of light are the first thing that you tend to notice about the picture but actually it is the little 'pool' of light that is falling on the grasses that I think makes the picture.
The church on the left is in a strong place and there is lots of detail in it.
I can tell that the picture was taken with a wide angle lens and that has caused the tower on the church to tilt to the right (converging verticals) I think the picture would be improved if this tilt was corrected using photo software. That is why I didn't give this the full 6 rating.

Thank you so very much for the fantastic review, and of course also for the generous rating. With respect, you are actually wrong about the lens. I have used the ordinary lens 18-55 mm. The tower on the church is actually tilted like this for real . Remember this is a church which has been sitting there for 400 years. In fact I don't think it is one single streight angle in this church. LOL
-
Nice try but it still isn't getting the full 6
-
I wasn't trying to get 6 stars. I just tried to explain why the tower wasn't streight.

It looks pretty straight in other images I found on the internet (and 18mm is VERY wide-angle for a lens)

This is so beautiful! I love the sky and clouds, the sun shining through, the moutains, the water, the composition, the colors and detail. This really is stunning.

You are so correct, you definitely captured this place at just the perfect moment. The look of the sun rays shining through the clouds down on the water is enough to take your breath away. It is so stunningly beautiful I'm surprise they allow anyone around it for fear of it being damaged. Your focus and clarity is so clear and precise it almost looks to real, it has a very surreal look about it. And I can see why you would go there to take photographs because the view is outstanding. And the structure of the church is fantastic and it looks amazingly well kept for a building that is that old. I think you found a peace of heaven on earth. Great shot.

I am drawn in to the mysterious aspect of this piece...the mood in which it invoked. What you see in shadow and in the light are each as important. The color and balance...perfect. The scene is intriguing and invokes a variety of feelings and emotions. lovely shot! Thanks for sharing!

Beautifully well framed photo. I just love everything about this picture; the foreground, old chapel, water and sky. I don't know how you could have made it more lovely. The crisp sharp image allows the viewer to explore the mysteries and energy present. I love it.
