I think it is quite dramatic and works very well. The initial impact in the thumbnail was super and it looks just as super larger. Superb depth. Wonderful nuances of the B&W to create a very vivid crashing waves scene at night. Excellent.

Great image, very dramatic, love the movement in the waves and water. You have all the different tones and hues from bright white to deep black. good job.

Very powerful scene. I think it looks great in black and white. Great use of whites in the splashes. Great action shown in the waves coming in. Would be a great illustration in a story. Very nice job!

All the textures work for me..it feels like a dark and gloomy night, when anything can happen! Would make a way awesome cover for a mystery novel! i like the way the canvas texture has been used to create the texture inthe waves..and the light falls beautifull on the water splashes. Donkeyoatey

This works very well - I've spent many nights fishing off the end of the pier and this inky blackness is exactly what it looks like at 4a.m. on a moon lit night.
Great artwork, thanks for sharing.
Good luck.

Wow, this is really a dynamic.; I see the touch of the color, but the mostly in black and white. There is a lot of energy and movement. You have captured the atmosphere of the sea at night so well. Thank you for sharing.

This is a precious scene. I love the reflection of the moonlight in the crest of the waves and the strong motion of the tide. Night of moon in the sea... very romantic. Love the quality of this painting and his great beauty. Good luck.

let me get this right! u paint a beautiful color capture of the sea..u scan it and then make it b&w so u can enter a b&w contest?..if i was i that contest i would be a lil pissed..i guess i would be the dumbass trying to do it the right way with many shades of gray and black.(for example look up "moonshadow' and 'jimi hendrix').but hey one of many reasons i dont do blind and im sure its cool with evryone else u did this so really my opinion doesnt really count..wink.the depth is great! the detail is great! the shading is great! over great job.maybe next time u really will challenge urself to a real neutral color picture..the only one that would hold u back is you,.wink

Thank you, I think, for your great review. It is actually different. When you get to my advanced age it's sometimes difficult to challenge oneself - I would have liked to do a portrait for this contest but we weren't allowed.
