A very beautiful contest entry - soft, romantic, pure and well done in details - great composition - wonderful space use letting the three roses come in from one corner - your soft pastel background with so many color nuances and shades of pink and purple are the testimonial of the love you bring into your work, the shades on the flower petals are perfect bringing three dimensional effect into the scene - the detail work in this image is amazing even added leaves that are in the half shadow - splendid presentation, all the best for the contest - of course your style is unique and xxxx....

I like your color scheme here â?? white background for white roseâ?¦ there is no contest but the purity in the flower is emphasized and I am sure that is what you are after. The color is so wonderfully rendered. The purple â?? gray shadow seems to add depth in the white. Thank you for sharing.

Very lovely work, Suzanne, I know this is a blind contest, but this has your 'signature' contained in the work-wonderfully painted, I have never used the water soluble oil pastels, but this looks like fabulous fun too! Your color palette is soft and muted with the background hues carried to the flower. Lovely work on the leaves too! THe white is the whitest of white and really pops off the monitor! Beautiful! Jean

Thank you so much, Jean, for your lovely review. The water soluble oil paints are good in that they dry quickly and you don't have the lingering smell of turps, which is good for me as I live in a small bungalow!

This painting is done in very soft tones. It looks wonderful with the blue and pink background.

White roses are probably my favorites, and you certainly portrayed their gentle beauty in this. Wonderfully done, perfected details, great technique. This is a very nice soft image...it gives an "old fashioned" appearance which I personally really like. I also really like that you just give a simple detail version rather than very crip detail and outlines, the shading works perfectly for this and the background really works well also. Good luck in the contest.

A very pretty painting showing a small group of white roses. I like the grouping with two at the top and one kind of centred below. Each is fully open and very attractive shapes the blooms form too. Greenery adds some colour as does the softly toned background which I particularly like. Good Luck in the contest at voting time.
