Wishing upon a Star

The sheer amount of time and effort this artist put into creating this piece using layering effects and soap bubble stars (brilliant idea), dozens of filters to get this final effect, and adding the glow to the outline of the photo are phenomenal and the efforts should be rewarded with a six star rating! I love how the artist literally made the piece personally unique by adding a star pin of her own. The thing I find most intriguing about this piece is what can be viewed in the sky as shapes of other objects upon close inspection of this work. I find this same aspect when shooting the clouds, you never know what you will see in them upon reviewing the photos! It's magical in a way much like a starry night is magical and breathtaking! I am clearly able to discern the shape of a woman in a black strapped dress floating near the tree to the right of the piece as well as an old fashioned white mask reminiscent of the happy/sad symbol used in theater, further up in the right of the piece past the image of a woman. Also while it appears that the woman standing is alone there is a visible full outline of a silhouetted male figure standing behind her to her slight right. Perhaps this silhouette figure symbolizes her wish, perhaps it symbolizes a lost love, the possibilities are endless! I'm sure if 10 different people looked at this piece, each would notice something different. This is why it is so unique and enticing. I also find it interesting that the artist chose to place the obscured images to the right of the photo. This allows the eyes to be immediately drawn to the shining star and the woman wishing upon it thus keeping consistency with the poem's title. Then as the eyes slowly take in the remainder of this piece the additional figures and images are processed and it gives this layered piece added volume and a different perspective. It's creatively formed and designed to offer more than meets the eye. Brilliant composition!

Sorry for being late. I am breathless after reading your review. I have very seldom received reviews of a dept and thoroughness as yours. I may have never received an review of such understanding of my art. Your imagination seems to have the richness of a poet. Are you a writer?
I am very thankful for you're review and golden rating, but any star will look dull compared with a such precious review.
A thank you seems way to small, but I cannot think of any words better. Thank you!!!

Wow this thank you of my review is so heartfelt and sincere it almost brings me to tears! You are truly welcome for the review and after all the imagination and hard work that went into this piece you deserve to feel proud and know you earned those 6 stars. Yes I am a writer as well as a photographer in fact I own my own writing company! But I live for the magical, the positive, the chance to make the impossible possible and in you and your work I saw all these elements! Have a super Sunday my friend!:)

Impressive result of the dozen of filters applied to modify this creation.
Dramatic and a bit eerie if you just imagine this man is a stalker and has evil plans meeting with this girl on a starry but fatal night.
Interesting initial impact.
Great story telling factor.
Thanks for sharing,

Thank you very much, I appreciate your review. I like your creative interpretation. That is indeed one of the option. I intended to show a night were some could see wonder, but other ghost, monster, or indeed murder. There is always good and evil in any work of art, just as in life.

This could be a nice Christmas card. Very nice picture (though I should call it a work, more than a picture). Very well done ! Thank you so much for sharing !

What a neat image. I like the sense of looking out beyond the constellations. The beach acts as a nice leading line. Nice highlights on the silhouettes. Some work went into this - it shows. Nice job. Kathy
