I rarely comment on anything that isn't photography unless it's something that really strikes a chord. I really like the atmosphere in this, the rich colour and the sense of place. Have to admit that the first thing that caught my eye is that it reminded me very much of an old fashioned Christmas card.

Thank you for your comment Len, I finally looked up the christmas cards, you aren't the first to mention them, they do have snow on them, but I don't think mine looks that cheesy:))

The palette is totally appealing to my eye, subtle blue and orange hues. I looked up this particular artist, he seems to infuse the cold landscape with a bit of life's turmoils! I must say I like your take on his style, more inviting piece, less disturbance, more peaceful. Lovely textured effects and the little chimney and the snowy rooftop is my favorite part! Lovely work and great contest entry! jean

The palette is totally appealing to my eye, subtle blue and orange hues. I looked up this particular artist, he seems to infuse the cold landscape with a bit of life's turmoils! I must say I like your take on his style, more inviting piece, less disturbance, more peaceful. Lovely textured effects and the little chimney and the snowy rooftop is my favorite part! Very Very Very attractive. Balance, detail, frame and presentation are all so well though out here. A beautiful oil painting that demonstrates both skill and passion of the artist holding the brush. Very Nice. I really like the realism you have produced - the snow on the water, the shoveled walkway, the smoke exiting the chimney; all make for a stunning display. I further find the colors you used very pleasing. Kathy

The light in this painting is sublime. It reminds me of (an upscale) Kincaid. I think everything, from the sky to the chimney smoke... and then the river --- it's curves and reflections - are perfect. Very nice work... you should be proud of this.

Very nice colours, there is a feeling of warmth in this painting which gives me a nice feeling :) I love the juxtaposition of such a frozen landscape having a warm almost cosy feeling. The rusty red and is a nice touch and I really like the pattern you have worked into the sky. Thank you for sharing your work.
